Showtime Network has opened the official site for the Hank Azaria Showtime series Huff, which Harry filmed a few episodes for last spring. The series will premiere on Showtime, November 7th at 10 PM. Hopefully it'll allow Harry to show us the same kind of quality dramatic range he showed in last night's amazing Dr. Vegas!

Click the link or the image at right for times and ticket info.
3/24-- At last, Harry and Dawn's episode of I'm With Her will finally be airing on March 30th, 8:30 PM, on ABC! The pair filmed the episode last fall and it's been a long wait for it. Harry plays the principal of the school that Patrick teaches at, and Dawn plays his secretary.
2/26-- Buffy fans, we're jumping on the bandwagon to help save Angel. The current season has been targeted as the last one by the WB, and where signing petitions is a hit-or-miss proposition, some of the fans have come up with the (maybe better) idea of writing to other networks (namely TNT, which is already running Angel in syndie) to pick up the show for all new seasons. (No, Harry has never appeared on the Buffy spinoff.... yet. But maybe, if we got the show back, maybe in some wild act of providence.... ;)
Anyway, click the banner to be taken to savingangel.org. Join the fight!

Harry filmed a new episode of Las Vegas on Jan. 8th. Keep watching NBC on Mondays at 9 PM to catch it!
12/13-- Found a link at Reprise.com for the one-day production of "Assassins" earlier this year; a very good account of Harry's performance as a presidential assassin. The site also has links to more huge-o pics, so surf with caution.
For you icon buffs-- I threw this together, seemed like something the Mayor would say. :) Upload it to your own server and use it if you like.
11/27-- Welcome to the site's new look! :)
"Like Jazz" opened Nov. 21 at the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles. Harry stars in the overview of jazz as an art over the decades, along with Jennifer Holliday and Cleavant Derricks, among others. The show is slated to run through January 25th. Click the logo at right to buy tickets!

Also, Al's Place has a tiny cute pic of Harry as he appeared in the Quantum Leap episode "Permanent Wave", circa 1983. (For Leap fans, there's a petition going around now to get this beloved series on DVD-- a shame it hasn't been done by now, really.)
11/17-- Las Vegas Online has posted a few screengrabs of Harry as
chef Gunther from the Oct. 13th ep. No news yet as to when, or indeed if,
he'll soon be serving snail guts to unsuspecting Vegas denizens in a future
show. :) But stay tuned....
10/31-- A new musical opening up in Los
Angeles! "Like
Jazz" will be running in previews at Los Angeles' Mark Taper Forum on
November 21st, and opening December 4th! Harry stars in the overview of jazz
as an art over the decades, along with Jennifer Holliday and Cleavant
Derricks, among others. Click the link to get tickets!
10/27-- Archived five pieces of print on the Article Page, from back in
the day; three reviews of Harry in 1987's Broadway magician drama "Sleight Of
Hand", one interview with him backstage at "Cats" in 1982, and one review of
him in 1979's hit "Oklahoma!". Much thanks go to Patti at Hudson Valley

page... including one or two in New York City!
It's happening sometime... Harry and Dawn will still be guesting on an
episode of ABC's new comedy I'm With Her (Tuesdays, 8:30 PM). Harry plays the
principal of the school David Sutcliffe's character teaches at, Dawn plays his
secretary!
And at some point, hopefully before the end of the world, I will
get to adding more to Dawn's biography page. It's gonna
happen. Honest!
9/25--Bad, bad news regarding WB's The Mayor... it's not
going to happen. After filming only one episode of the comedy series, which
centered on a teen mayor of a small town, the WB has decided it's not
something they want to pursue, and have dropped it from the schedule. Rats. :(
9/10-- Happy birthday Harry! :)
The new TV season draws near with
two confirmed guest appearances. First, both Harry and Dawn will be
guesting on an episode of ABC's new comedy I'm With
Her, debuting Sept 23rd. Harry plays the principal of the school David
Sutcliffe's character teaches at, Dawn plays his secretary! (Incidentally, the
two celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary on the 19th...)
Then, Harry
plays a star chef on two eps of NBC's new James Cann drama Las Vegas, which debuts Sept.
22. We don't know exactly *which* eps they're going to be, though. So keep an
eye on those!
9/2-- Harry's joined the cast of "Assassins", a
reprise of the 1990 musical by John Weidman and Stephen Sondheim. The play
focuses on various presidential assassins (Lee Harvey Oswald, John Wilkes
Booth), and is scheduled to run for one night only at UCLA's Freud Playhouse
in L.A. on September 15 at 8 PM. Tickets to the show can be got by calling
UCLA Central Ticket Office at (310) 825-2101, or going to http://www.harrygroener.com/www.reprise.org
8/20-- Manna From Heaven has been picked up to open in 25 more
U.S. cities, and it's also been picked as a premiere American film for the
Canadian Circuit, a subdivision of the Toronto International Film Festival
Group. Check out the Manna

head out there and see it!
7/25-- Big news: Harry's going to appear at the Sunnydale Central 2
convention in Toronto, Canada, on August 22-24! This is one of the few Buffy
conventions Harry has been able to do, so get there if you can. J. August
Richards and Danny Strong are on the menu too. Click the banner above to visit
the official site for the latest! Thanks Cindy! :)
7/24-- Harry's interviewed in the August issue of Cult Times, #95!
He talks about his final appearance as the Mayor during the last season of
Buffy. Pick up your copy at Visual
Imagination.
7/10-- It's way overdue, and it's still not even close to
being done. But to commemorate Dawn's current run in "On Golden Pond" at the
theatre in Missoula, Montana, I'm putting out the (very preliminary!) first
draft of her biography
page. She'll be appearing in the show for the next two weeks. Stick around
for more additions to the page!
Still no solid start date for the WB's The
Mayor, although there's a chance it may not be debuting this summer
after all-- TV Tome even lists a date of January 2004. Six eps have been
filmed so far, with more to come. Stay tuned....
6/6-- A huge screening of Manna From Heaven will happen on June
13th at the AMC Fashion Valley 18 theatre, San Diego. It's a special screening
to benefit Habitat for Humanity. Harry and his wife Dawn Didawick are both
going to be at the premiere, to meet moviegoers! Get your tickets before the
event sells out by contacting the Sisters.
Also, the WB site has posted their official
page for Harry's new series The Mayor! Still no premiere date yet,
though.
5/6-- This winter, the extremely generous Anthony Larme provided
images, info and a whole lot of pep talk toward the creation of a complete
episode guide to Harry's 1997 sci-fi drama Sleepwalkers.
While I (still) have not completed the site, you can head on over to find out
more about this series, its stars, and see more photos of Harry as the creepy
Smiling Man! And please
make sure to visit Anthony's personal site devoted to Naomi Watts (who
played Kate; also starred in The Ring). Thanks Anthony! (I'll finish it
soon, I swear...)
We have a new recent interview with Harry, kindly donated by journalist
Simon Monger. In it, Harry talks about his experiences with sci-fi convention
fans, Jack Nicholson's surprising shyness, and outs the Mayor as a Virgo. :)
Read the article here!
Thank you, Simon!
4/21-- Well, I wasn't able to update this right away, but Manna From
Heaven was held over for an extra weekend in both New York and L.A. last
week. Go here for a list
of theatres it may still be playing at at this late date! Visit the official movie site to see a
trailer, or go to the Five
Sisters Productions site for more updates!
TV Tome is listing the WB's Kid Mayor for September! That's in
no way a definitive airdate, but go
here to see their page. The show is being produced by Adam Sandler's
company, and stars Samm Levine as a 19-year-old who is elected the mayor of
his small town. (To answer your question, no. I was hoping Harry was playing
the mayor too, but nope. Not this time. :)
However.... you can watch Buffy on May 6th-- the episode titled
"Touched" is the hoped-for Mayor/Faith reunion.
4/2-- Manna From Heaven is going to open in 33 theatres
throughout New York and Los Angeles on April 4th! At least one of the Five
Sisters filmmaking family will be present at the AMC theatres throughout the
weekend. The first weekend will be crucial to maintaining the film's momentum,
and may get it into even more theatres. So if you live in either city, jump to
the Sisters'
tour schedule page for an updated list of theatres the movie's playing in.
****BUFFY SPOILER ALERT****
(highlight the following text to read a
Spoiler about one of the upcoming Buffy eps!)
According to Spoiler Slayer, Faith will be visited by
the morphing First Evil in the guise of the Mayor on episode 20, titled
"Touched", airing May 6th. It's only for one scene, and it isn't "really" the
Mayor back from the dead-- only a disguise that this other demon is wearing.
It still sounds like Harry will be making an appearance, though! To read all
the dirty details, see the Spoiler
Slayer.
****END SPOILER ALERT****
3/17-- Manna From Heaven, the independent film from Five Sisters
Productions, is undertaking a "whistle stop tour", opening at theatres in
various locations around the country. In the film, Harry plays a struggling
dance-school owner, who along with his neighbors is blessed by a mysterious
shower of money from the sky. Being an indie, the film has had to draw
moviegoers almost purely on word of mouth-- but that word has been great. It's
been drawing comparisions to last year's huge indie hit My Big Fat Greek
Wedding-- same kind of homey styling and hopeful themes. On April 4th it's
going to be opening at theatres throughout both N.Y. and L.A. Go to the Sisters' tour
schedule page to find a theatre near you! The Sisters' site has lots more
info (and photos!) about the film as well.
3/6-- Harry's got a new series!! The pilot of the new WB comedy Kid
Mayor will be filmed on April 11 (Friday) at Sony Pictures in Culver City,
California. The show is being produced by Adam Sandler's company, and stars
Samm Levine as a 19-year-old who is elected the mayor of his small town.
Catherine Denevue has joined the cast as well. If you're near L.A. and you
want tickets to be in the studio audience, head over to TV Tickets.com and grab 'em! As
soon as I find out anything else about the show, air dates and specifics of
Harry's character and so on, you'll see it here! Thanks Steve!
NBC.com still lists the airdate of Dawn's Ed as March 12th,
although they've been considering moving the sitcom to Thursdays (thereby
changing the date to the 13th). Dawn's appearing as one of the guests staying
at Molly Shannon's snowbound inn.
The new logo graphic on the front page is courtesy Ken-- thanks much to
him! :)
3/1-- At last... the account of our recent trip to see Harry in New York City!! Maribel
got to see him in Imaginary Friends, she said he was awesome! Now that the
show's over, it's back to L.A. for him and his wife Dawn, in search of this
year's gigs.
On that note, keep an eye on NBC's sitcom Ed; Dawn will
guest-star on March 12's 8 P.M. episode. And keep watching this site for a
history of Dawn's life and career, coming soon!
2/1 -- Imaginary
Friends will close on Broadway on February 16th. Various reasons,
including the threat of war and an impending musician's strike are the cause.
Get your tickets at the official site to see this one before it's gone.
Manna From Heaven, the film from Five Sisters Productions, is
gaining more and more theatre showings across the country. The film, which has
drawn comparisions to the current indie smash My Big Fat Greek Wedding,
tells the story of several neighbors who come into a divinely-sent amount of
money, only to discover years later that they may have to pay it back. Harry
gets to dance in this one! For more about the film and the Burton sisters who
produced and starred in it, go to the official Five Sisters
website.
Of course, About Schmidt is still showing everywhere, too. BTW,
Harry's wife Dawn was originally cast as his wife in the movie! The role
eventually went to Connie Ray, but it was going to be Dawn first. Read all
about it at Moviehole's interview

Election and American Beauty, the film is being released by
DreamWorks. Visit the official site (uses Flash) or this fan website
for much more info and photos from the production.
6/14 -- Here's another account from the Homecoming con, from the very
gracious Cathryn:
"....When I saw Harry out of the corner of my eye having
breakfast in the hotel restaurant, I had a sudden flashback to "Graduation
Day" and the spiders. BTW, he told us they were tootsie rolls painted black.
They were apparently too hard to swallow quickly, so he's actually spitting
them back out when he appears to be cleaning his mouth with the
napkin.
"Until his Q&A session, I'd no idea what an interesting, really
nice man he is. (They were all nice, but him especially so).
"But I was
really converted to the Harry love on Saturday night. He was dancing with a
little girl of about 12 (to "Sex Machine" if you can believe it!) when some
very glamourous - and very forward - girls of about 20 or so tried to drag him
off to dance with them. He handled it so well. He accepted their invitation
but took the 12 year old with him, making sure they knew he was still dancing
with her. Sigh. What a gentleman!"
Thanks for the scoop Cathryn! :)
6/9 -- David Taylor got to see Harry at the Odyssey convention last
year in England. This year, he traveled to the Homecoming con in Scotland, and
brings us this awesome story of the proceedings:
"After meeting Harry a year ago at another convention, I was looking
forward to seeing him again as I have found him to be an entertaining and
interesting guest. It is also safe to say that I was not disappointed!
Harry's talk on Saturday was as part of a villains panel. He was joined on
stage by George Hertzberg (Adam) and Danny Strong (Jonathon). However, most of
the questions fielded were for George and Danny, with Harry not getting into
the flow of it until his Sunday individual talk. And boy was it worth waiting
for.
I can only hope that Joss catches a copy of the tape or reads this
post and gets in touch with Harry. After fielding some of the usual convention
questions, he was asked if he would like to return to Buffy, and if so, under
what circumstances?
With everyone expecting the, well there's nothing more
the character could do answer, Harry proceeded to explain a scenario that he
has either given much thought to, or has an amazing mind to come up with this
on the spot.
Yes he would like to come back (no surprise there) but only
in flash back if he was too old to play the character of the Mayor's son.
I can't think of any episode that actually mentioned he had a son, so this
is something that would be fleshed out with back story. He arrives in
Sunnydale looking for revenge on the group that killed his father. After
collecting the details of all those involved in the murder (in his eyes) he
goes after them one by one. First off he kills Xander, and the Scoobies get
some clue about him and start searching the books for the demon responsible.
But here's the twist, he is a cross demon and cannot be found in any books!!
Then another of the gang is killed, then another, and another. All the time,
clues are massing up but Buffy is unable to piece them together and find a way
of killing him. She is getting more frustrated all the time, and eventually
all alone, her friends all dead. So who does she call? Angel!! He rushes back
to Sunnydale in time for the big climax, Buffy vs. the Mayor's son. In this
final fight, she manages to kill him (well she has to, it's her show) but only
after he has managed to kill Angel. So Buffy has won, but at what cost.
At
this point the audience went wild, with suggestions that he should send his
idea to Joss. But Harry being modest suggested that us fans should do it
instead. I can only add that Joss will have to come up with one hell of a
season seven, if he's gonna beat that idea.
All too soon, his hour was
over and he left the stage to thunderous applause.
Yet again, it has been
a real pleasure to see Harry perform, and I think he has made many new friends
this past weekend."
Thanks for that, David! :)
Other news: Daisy Eagan, who appeared in "Caught In The Net" this
January with Harry and Dawn, posted some neat photos of the play at her official site. Only a few
of them are thumbnails, but she promises more.

12/3 -- Harry and his wife Dawn star in Caught In The Net, a Ray Cooney

Whitehead.
If you've got TNN, tune in Friday the 7th at 11PM for a rerun of
Harry's classic Star Trek Next Generation episode, "Tin Man". A fan
favorite, considered one of the best eps ever, this is the one with Harry as a
lonely mindreading alien, whom the crew picks up on the way to investigate a
strange new spaceship-like life form. The writer of the episode originally
wanted David Bowie for the role!
The Santa Monica
Mirror reports Harry will be at the Salon IX at the Mark Taper Forum on
December 4th, for a centenary of composer Kurt Weill.
The
Buffy comic The Haunted #1, co-written by BTVS script writer Jane Espenson,
comes out Dec. 19th. The comic reunites the Mayor with the dark Slayer Faith
to wreak havoc on Buffy's life. You can order a copy at Dark Horse comics by
clicking the pic; or go to ElizaDushku.org.
11/8 -- Head over to ElizaDushku.org to see four pages of
the upcoming Buffy comic featuring both Faith and the Mayor; "The Haunted".
to order a copy from Dark Horse comics!
10/16 -- It's offical: Harry and his wife Dawn will star together in a
play by Ray Cooney called Caught In The Net, at the Coconut Grove Playhouse in
Miami, FL. December 7-23. Harry plays a man juggling two wives, one of whom is
played by Dawn. Tony Randall and Paxton Whitehead are also in the cast. The
play *might* also run at the National Actors Theatre in New York City. Thanks
much to Michelle for the info!
Also, make sure to check out the BTVS snaps in the gallery. Some have
been added, others have been improved. Well worth checking out. Thanks again
to GHope!
10/8 -- Well, the bad news first: Harry has had to cancel his
appearance at Conthulhu in November. The good news is he's been signed to a
Broadway show (name pending) which will start in New York and be touring
throughout the country. As soon as I find out more about the production I'll
post it here.
The also-good news is, GHope from BTVSCaps By Ru has very generously
supplised us with new shots of Choices. Go and drool.
(And drop GHope a line to say thanks!)
Lastly: apparently the Mayor will be making an appearance in the Buffy
comic book after all! Check out the
cover of Haunted #1, co-written by BTVS script writer Jane Espenson. The
issue is due out Dec. 19th, but you can order a copy at Dark Horse comics
right now. Thanks to Everlasting Eliza
for the news tip.
10/1 -- Harry is interviewed in Cult Times Special #19, featuring Scott
Bakula on the cover. I think the magazine is a British one, but you can order
a copy at the official website here.
9/27 -- Harry will appear with an incredible roster of Broadway's best
in an "Audience Sing-Along Family Event" on Monday, October 1, 2001 at 8:00
p.m. The event is non-profit, but all donations will be given to the Red Cross
for the victims of the WTC tragedy. It will take place at Wadsworth Theatre,
11301 Wilshire Boulevard in Brentwood California, and reservations are
required. Go here
to read the official press release! (Thank you Cheryl for the info!)
Also, David Taylor reports that Harry is scheduled for Sector 14's
Homecoming convention, June 15-16 2002 in Glasgow, Scotland. Here's the official site. Thanks David!
9/19 -- The show goes on: Primedia's Conthulhu convention is going
ahead as scheduled. They've added a meet-and-greet with Harry on the evening
of the 9th, from 10PM to 11:30PM. In addition to that he's scheduled to speak
on the 10th, at 2PM, and on the 11th, at 11AM. Check the official schedule here.
Also, our site can now be found at http://www.harrygroener.com/, which I
guess makes us the Official Harry Groener Page, doesn't it? Maybe somebody
would like to suggest a new name?...
9/17 -- The Drew Carey episode postponed September 12 will now air on
Wednesday, Sept. 19.
Ebay.com has a great many charities under their wing right now, but the
one I'm posting here is the New York Fire 9-11
Relief Fund, benefitting the families of the brave men and women who
answered the call of duty on Sept. 11, never to come home again. So give to
that if you can.
9/15 -- In the wake of the horrible things that happened in New York
City and Washington Tuesday, updating a webpage seems pretty unimportant. But
if you're not on my mailing list you may want to know that Harry and his wife
Dawn are both safe, having been at their home in Los Angeles at the time of
the attacks. If you'd like to make a donation to the Red Cross, you can do so
at Amazon.com.
As far as I know, the Primedia convention is still on. Keep checking
back for details.
Pray for the families, for the victims, and for our armed forces to
bring a swift end to the conflict. God bless America.
9/10 -- A very happy birthday to Harry today! :) By coincedence Mary
Loye has posted several *yummy* photos from the Odyssey convention in May at
her website! Go
and check em out. Also, I've typed up the Theater Week
interview Harry gave in 1992 during CFY. There's a sweet description of
the things he and his wife Dawn were sending to each other. Plus some photos,
of course. And there's one loose, very cute photo
of Harry and Dawn added to the gallery, which comes from the 1999 In Theatre
article (which I'll type up as soon as I can) and another, very special photo
added to the New Harmony
gallery -- Harry turned around and snapped this one of us three, me, Maribel
and Tennille, in the audience at the second play. Wow!
9/6 -- The Orange County Weekly posts a nice review of Twelfth Night on
their website,
with a great picture of Harry as the jester Feste. (Their link to the larger
picture doesn't work, so go
here for it. Also, Tim has sent us some great reviews
culled from various places. Thank you Tim!
8/28 -- Harry's Drew Carey episode reruns Wednesday, Sept. 12 at 9PM on
ABC. (I'm told he dresses up like Mimi in this show... too cool!! :)
8/7 -- The WB network will begin airing Dead Last, a summer series
about a rock band that gains the ability to see ghosts. Harry filmed one
episode for the thriller, which debuts Tuesday, Aug 14.
The Buffy News Wire reports
that Harry has been appearing at the Globe Theatres Lowell Davies Festival
Theatre in San Diego all this month (July 7th to August 11th) in their
production of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. If you're reeeeeally quick, tickets
are $25 to $50. Call (619) 239-2255 for more information.
7/17 -- Updated the Articles with People
magazine from 1992, including a nice photo. Also, added one pic of Harry
with my friend Maribel in Indiana last
year (finally got it scanned!) Finally, a scan of the ILWA cd cover he
signed, same day. More to come...
7/14 -- Harry's 1st North America convention will be in Ontario,
Canada, at Conthulhu, an H.P. Lovecraft convention November 9-11. Details on
registration and accomodations are at the official site.
About Schmidt, Harry's Jack Nicholson movie, has finished
filming in Nebraska. Go to Omaha.com
for details. The film is expected to open in 2002 or late this year at the
least.
7/11 -- Welcome to version 2.0! One new project: "The Day The World
Ended" from USA network. See IMDB
page
The photo from this month's Seventeen
Magazine has been added. I have a scanner now, so look for more eye candy
soon.
News
Archive has been added.
6/5 -- This past week saw the first anniversary of our trip to New
Harmony. Thanks for the memories, Harry. :)
Go to The
Darkest Night for a pic (yes it is him, NOT Tony Head) at the wrap party
of the 100th Buffy ep?? (He wasn't in that...was he? I haven't been
watching...)
5/13 -- David rocks.... Go here for new
photos from Odyssey 2001, incl. some with Anthony Stewart Head and others from
the convention. Everlasting thanks, David! :)
5/10 -- This comes to us from David, henceforth known as Extremely
Lucky Bug, who was at the Odyssey 2001 convention in England last week:
"I believe this was Harry's first convention, and was he value for
money, you bet!! He really set the tone when he did his first talk. After the
initial blast of flashguns going off, Harry totally turned the tables on the
fans by taking a camera from his pocket and taking the fans pictures. A nice
touch that really broke the ice. In all the talks / photo sessions / autograph
sessions he did over the weekend, he came across as a really nice guy, and I'm
sure his face must have been aching by the end with his infectious grin.
"One of the Harry highlights happened on the final panel on the Monday
morning. While on stage with Robin Sachs (Ethan Rayne in BTVS), the following
question was asked from the floor; "Now that Tony Head has left the building -
you can tell us the real story of what he is like to work with". Nobody
expected any dirt to be dished, and in that respect, were not disappointed.
What we got was an inspired piece of ab-libbing from Harry and Robin on the
problems Tony had with dealing with the other members of the BTVS crew due to
his false leg, wig and glass eye!!! Needless to say, the audience knew it was
a windup (these guy's tongues were firmly in their cheeks), and there was not
a dry eye (glass or otherwise) in the audience.
"Another favourite moment
happened at the stewards party, when Harry carefully balanced a bottle of beer
on Armin Shimerman's head!!!
"At the end of the day, it was a pleasure to
meet Harry, and I think he enjoyed himself as much as the audience did."
Thanks very much for that anecdote, David!! :D
TV-wise, watch the first-run The Drew Carey Show on Wed, the
29th, on ABC at 9PM.
5/1 -- A new musical: "The Grave White Way" opens in previews May 3rd
at the Hudson Backstage Theatre in Hollywood and will run Thursdays through
Sundays until June 17. In the comedy, five dead Broadway actors try to get
into Musical Theatre Heaven by performing an "afterlife revue" of the
disastrous flop musicals that condemned them to the musical theatre purgatory
known as the "Grave White Way." Harry is listed in the Celebrity Schedule as
appearing May 31st and June 1st. Call (310) 289-2999 for tickets, or check out
the official website (they listed
my site next to Harry's name!! I guess I really ought to start calling this
the Official Harry Groener page, shouldn't I??)
4/23 -- With that voice, why isn't he getting more voiceover work??...
Harry's lovely tones will be heard on an episode of FOX's King of the Hill, on
Sunday, May 6th, at 7:30 PM.
Also, the Antaeus Project has posted some
cute photos of Harry and Dawn (it's her, trust me) performing at their annual
Valentine's dinner on their homepage.
4/8 -- Got an email today.... :-D
Harry has a whole scene with Tom
Hanks in "Road to Perdition"! The film will be released November 2, 2001.
"Ghost of a Chance", the Scott Bakula movie, seems to have been pushed back
indefinitely, although "Manna From Heaven", the Five Sisters Production, has
been getting good reviews at festivals and may be out soon.
TV-wise, watch Fox's Boston Public on April 16th, 8 PM. 18
Wheels of Justice aired on TNN this week, and I dropped the ball on it!
Sorry!! However, this fall may bring us a very intriguing series from the WB
called Dead Last, about rock stars who see dead people; Harry filmed an
episode playing a bad guy, but he doesn't think it will see daylight. (But it
sounds so cool!!....)
Also, Harry will be appearing at Odyssey 2001, the 51st British Trek
convention, to be held in the Radisson Edwardian Hotel, Heathrow, London,
England, May 4th thru 7th 2001. Tickets are selling fast! See the official
webpage here. Also appearing are
Armin Shimerman (Principal Snyder on Buffy; Quark on Deep Space Nine), Anthony
Stewart Head (Giles on BTVS) and Robin Sachs (Galaxy Quest, Ethan on BTVS),
plus lots of Trek notables. A *huge* thank you to Harry and Dawn for the
info!! :)
4/1 -- Happy April Fools Day, and no this is NOT an joke update....
Harry's new movie "About Schmidt" is being directed by Alexander Payne
("Election"), and looks to be shooting for a fall 2001 release date. Also in
the film are Kathy Bates and Dermot Mulroney. More info about the Jack
Nicholson movie can be found at UpcomingMovies.com and
the very sparse IMDB page.
Shooting back to back with "Schmidt" is a Dreamworks film, "Road to
Perdition", directed by American Beauty's Sam Mendez and featuring a
huge-name cast, including Tom Hanks, Paul Newman, Jude Law, Jennifer
Jason-Leigh, Alfred Molina and Dylan Baker! The film is based on the Max Allan
Collins graphic novel and is set in Depression-era Chicago. More can be found
at this semi-official
site and at comics2film.com.
Meanwhile, Harry's wife Dawn Didawick is filming a movie for the very
prestigious Masterpiece Theatre series on PBS, "Almost a Woman", based on the
memoirs of Esmerlda Santiago. Much thanks for the info! :)
3/19 -- Long time no news, but I hear from Harry's agent today that
Harry's making a movie with Jack Nicholson called About Schmidt! About
all we know so far is it's been filming for some time. I'll post more as soon
as I hear it. :)
1/19 -- Harry will guest star in an upcoming episode of the TNN series
"18 Wheels of Justice". The show is about a renegade trucker who travels the
country doing good and crimefighting. I'll post when the ep gets an airdate.
Thanks Patti and Dawn! :)
1/10 -- The 1995 IMAX film Across
the Sea of Time features Harry as...himself. Well, sort of. There's a
scene in the film (which was shown in glorious 3-D in IMAX theatres in New
York) where a young boy enters the theatre where Harry is performing in Crazy
For You. Thanks kindly to Sue for spotting this!
1/2/01 -- Happy New Year! Five of Harry's twelve Buffy episodes are
being released in a box set on January 9th. Go to amazon.com
to pre-order a copy. The episodes featured are: Bad Girls, Consequences,
Enemies, Graduation Day Part One and Two. The Harryless Earshot is
also included, apparently on the strength of its being the one (along with
GD2) that was postponed in the States due to the Columbine tragedy. All in all
great television, if you missed it the first time, or just want it on
crispy crunchy VHS, this is one you have to buy.
12/20 -- Happy holidays to you all. Go buy the brand-new Watcher's
Guide Volume 2, a Buffy book published by Pocket Books. Harry is
interviewed in it and has loads of interesting tidbits and insight on the
Mayor. A few cute pictures too!
In the obsessive category, TV Guide quoted one of the better one-liners
from Harry's recent Judging Amy episode, (however anonymously) in this week's
Cheers &; Jeers page: "'You've got more fake parts than Inspector Gadget!'
-- An angry husband to his wife during a divorce case on CBS' Judging
Amy"
My unsightly site: for some stupid reason all the archived news before
January 12 2000 got erased down at the bottom there, but at least the
navigation bar is back. Sorry about that. :)
And did I mention he sent me a Christmas card?..... :-D
12/17 -- Harry has agreed to appear at Odyssey 2001, the 51st British
Trek convention, to be held in the Radisson Edwardian Hotel, Heathrow, London,
England, during the weekend of May 4/7 2001. Look at the official webpage here. Thanks to Rob Vandal for this
info! :)
12/1 -- Two upcoming appearances: Harry will guest star on December
5th's episode of Judging Amy, at 10 PM on CBS, and on Dec. 7th's
City of Angels, at 9 PM, also on CBS. Thank you TV Guide.com!!! :)
11/17 -- Harry made a guest appearance on the 11/9 episode of Charmed
as an empathic priest. Sorry I didn't hear about it beforehand, but Khae's
Charming World has put up a few screen grabs. I'll watch for the rerun and
post when it comes up.
9/14 -- Harry was in New York on the 10th (his b-day) for the final
performance of Cats at the Winter Garden Theatre. How do I know this?
Uh...well, I don't actually know it for sure, but Showbiz Today covered
the event and talked to Ken Paige (Old Deuteronomy) and for maybe three
seconds you can see a guy who looks like Harry over his shoulder. I told you I
was obsessed!! :)
I have revamped the image galleries and added one or two images to
nearly every section. The Buffy gallery was in serious need of help, hopefully
it's a bit more organized now.
Also Harry and Dawn celebrate their 22nd wedding anniversary on the
19th. Much happiness to them and many more years of it. :)
8/13 -- This new tidbit about "Ghost of a Chance": the film is being
distributed by Disney or one of their vast minions, and will likely be made
for cable. Jason Stuart and Nancy Cartwright (Bart Simpson) are also in the
film. This is the one in which Scott Bakula plays a presumed-dead actor trying
to get the role of himself, and Harry is his agent. Thanks to Pam and Emma at
the Scott
Sightings Scott Bakula page for this info. :)
I'm still trying to get some info about "Follies". Harry was one of
three up for the role of Buddy, but according to his agent, it may not happen.
Stay tuned.
7/4 -- It's a go on the New Harmony story!! :) Harry very graciously
okayed it, so here
it is. Also: from July 7 thru August 20 Harry will star in Neil Simon's
"The Good Doctor" at the Pasadena Playhouse in Pasadena Calif. The play is a
comedy based on the stories of Anton Chekov and co-stars Michael Learned and
tickets can be ordered thru Telecharge at 1-800-872-8997. Check out the
official site too.
7/1 -- Happy 4th to you all. "This Year's Girl", the final final Buffy
episode for the Mayor (unless they're nice and invite him back next year :)
reruns Tuesday, July 11, 8PM on the WB.
6/21 -- The Shirley Jones website has put up a page about Manna from
Heaven. This page has pictures with the cast and that looks like Harry in
the last one at the bottom in the car, I'm not sure.
6/16 -- There's an interview with Harry in the latest Shivers magazine,
#77, a British sci-fi/fantasy mag, in which he talks about playing the Mayor.
Order a copy at the website.
Argh... Fox ran Harry's Time of Your Life on Wednesday without telling
us! I taped it, happily... he plays kind of the drama teacher from hell of one
of Sarah's friends. The one time Harry talked about TOYL he kept referring to
"they, them"... wonder if he did more than one.
6/13 -- After some thought, I've decided to pull the New Harmony story
offline for a while until I send Harry a copy of it for um, proofreading. The
story will hopefully be back up within the month. Be patient!! :)
A great interview with Eliza Dushku (Faith on BTVS) in which she says
some nice things about Harry can be found at Fanforum.com.
Also, according to Deja, Harry seems to be in the running for a
production of Roundabout in NYC? More later...
BTW, Cats has been pushed back to a Sept. 10 closing.
Join the campaign to get Dear John rerunning on Nickelodeon!
Visit Nick At Nite and write them a
letter!
5/24 -- Small blurb from Fox.com:
"Time of Your Life returns to FOX with all-new episodes beginning Wednesday,
June 14th! Tune in at 9:00 PM/8:00 C." Harry's episode? Stay tuned...
5/15 -- Here's a tidbit about Harry's new film "Manna From Heaven" from
the Shirley Jones website:
"Written by Gabrielle D. Burton and produced by Five Sisters
Productions, of Santa Monica, California. Shirley loves the script for this
new film. She plays a scoundrel in the film, a con artist type of role. The
movie is a comedy and it co-stars Cloris Leachman, Frank Gorshin, Shelly
Duvall, and Wendie Malick, from TVs "Just Shoot Me". & That's not all!
Actresses Louise Fletcher, Jill Eikenberry, Fay Grant and actors Phil LaMarr,
Harry Groener and Mark Ethan are also working on this picture.
Filming has taken place in and around the city. Some of the site
locations have included the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, the Buffalo-Niagara
Airport, Salvatore's Italian Gardens and Mason Manor (Gumball Mansion, built
by the inventor of the Gumball Machine)".
And on a personal note..... I get to go see Harry's play in Indiana in
June!! Yee-haaw!! :D
5/3 -- This from The
Buzz, a Susan Egan fanpage: "TOO DEAD TO SWING -- Susan just completed a
stint in the studio recording a book on tape. She is the narrator and central
character, Katy Green, in this vintage murder mystery with Swing-era music and
songs performed by Ann Hampton Callaway. Harry Groener also stars. It is
scheduled for release in June of 2000."
4/27 -- At last, a real update!! The following news comes from Patti:
Harry has started on a feature film, "Manna From Heaven", from Five
Sisters Productions. The movie will also star Shirley Jones, Cloris Leachman,
Jill Eikenberry and Faye Grant. The film seems to have something to do with
dance as Harry's and Faye's characters own a dance studio. (All right!!
Anything to see him dance is fine by me! :)
Also, from May 19th to June 4th Harry and his wife Dawn Didawick will
be appearing in a new musical together, "Steeplechase", from the prestigious
New Harmony Project in New Harmony, Indiana. The musical is written by John
Pielmeier and Matt Selman and based on 'A Midsummer Nights Dream', set on
Coney Island at the turn of the century. For those wishing to attend, the
closest town to fly into is Evansville, IN. And there's talk of the couple
doing a musical together sometime later this year....stay tuned.
Dawn's character in Erin Brockovich has a name!! She appears as
Rosilyn the Receptionist (I still haven't seen this movie, so I don't know
quite when in the movie Dawn makes an appearance, but keep your eyes
peeled....) She is also appearing in a revival Arthur Miller's first play,
"The Man Who Had All The Luck" in Los Angeles. It's the first time this play
has been produced in the US since 1945. A HUGE thanks to Patti for all the
great news!! :)
Also, in the site-maintenence department, I've (finally) updated the
theatre page and gotten us on a webring (see home page. Could they have picked
a more miniscule title?? Ah well....)
Does anybody out there know a really good theater/Broadway ring I
should submit this page to? E-mail me at the bottom of the page!
4/12 -- Small news: There's a fun little voting booth at freevote.com
for the most amazing actor on TV, and Harry's up to about 4th place! (other
contenders being David Duchovny and Scott Cohen from The 10th Kingdom) You can
vote for Harry here. There's
no prize, just bragging rights. :)
3/27 -- "Time Of Your Life" has now been moved back to a summer return,
according to Fox's official website.
Harry was scheduled to appear on one of the new episodes since waaay back last
fall.
3/19 -- New info about "Ghost of a Chance": Tony Alda, (a Broadway
director??) is directing, with Ed Sanders producing. Actor-standup comic Jason
Stuart ("Lost and Found") is also in the cast. The indie film started filming
February 15 but is described as being "in pre-production". Thanks to all at the Scott Sightings
Scott Bakula page. :)
After eighteen years, the hugely popular musical Cats, which
Harry was part of the original Broadway cast for, will close on June 25. Read
about it here.
3/6 -- Finally!! Harry will guest-appear on the March 18 episode of
Profiler titled "The Long Way Home" at 10pm on NBC (eastern). Thanks Buffyholism for the
info. :)
Harry made a very welcome return last week to Buffy the Vampire
Slayer as Mayor Wilkins III, albeit in flashbacks, on the Feb 22 episode
titled "This Year's Girl". I will be updating my Mayor site Sunnydale City Hall
as soon as my pal Luke sends me the videotape. :)

which Harry was to have appeared Feb. 7th, has been put on hiatus. Sources say

and numerous other Broadway musicals, passed away on December 2. Mr. Ockrent

performers are scheduled to speak at a public memorial service on January 24,
at 1 P.M. at the New Amsterdam Theatre on 214 West 42nd St. in Manhattan.
